I did not find much information about running Dirsync on Windows Server 2012 RTM.
So, I took a risk and upgrades our existing Dirsync 2008 R2 to 2012 standard.
Off course I prepared for the worst by making additional back-ups with DPM and a snapshot with VMM. Better safe than sorry….
Our environment to start with:
- Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1
- Dirsync 64 Bit ( SQL Express )
I did an instant upgrade of Windows Server 2008 R2 to Windows Server 2012 standard.
After the upgrade I did not have to do anything to get things working, It just worked.
So everyone that wants to upgrade to 2012 and cannot find any documentation about it, just try.
!! Make sure you have a working / tested back-up just in case, that everything works in my case does not mean it will also work in you case !!
And…. the proof
I hope it will keep on working on the long term ( scheduled syncs etc. )
If not, I will make sure to post it here…
Next day update: Scheduled synchronization still works fine!
